People often ask me why they should hire a coach. There are lots of reasons! For those of you who are taking the Calling in “the One” telecourse, or have taken it in the past, one-on-one coaching allows you to work with the material in a much deeper way, and to have the support you will need as you work through the material. Doing transformational work can trigger a lot of “old stuff” so having a coach there to help you reconnect with your resourceful and wise self is very empowering. A coach has the perspective you may not have because you are in the middle of your process. I am here to check in with you and to cheer you on!
Doing group work after taking a CITO telecourse is valuable because it offers you a small community in which to share your growth. It’s about keeping that sense of possibility after the 7 week course is over.
If you’d like to talk more about whether coaching is right for you, please contact me and we can discuss this.
I am very happy to announce that I have dates for the next Calling in “the One” support groups! I will start the Sunday group on January 16th, 2011 and the Monday group will start the following day on January 17th. They will run for 8 weeks and are very affordable! This will appeal to people who have taken the telecourse and would like more individual attention, and a small community in which to share their progress. Spaces are very limited… so let me know as soon as possible if you would like to reserve your place!
I was just reading a review of Eat, Pray, Love by the wonderful people at Spirituality & Practice. I am including a quote I read there: As the Trappist monk Thomas Merton once wrote: “Our real journey in life is interior; it is a matter of growth, deepening, and an ever greater surrender in the creative action of love and grace in our hearts.” That is what this work is all about – this work of being on a spiritual path interacting with other humans – keeping our hearts open and being curious rather than defended. It’s an amazing journey we are on!
I was sorting papers in my home office recently when I came across a quote from Tolstoy: “Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.” Of course how we see things depends on our filters. When we start to take responsibility for how we see things and do some work around our limiting beliefs and attitudes we are empowered. How wonderful to recognize that we no longer have to see ourselves as victims! This is foundational in the Calling in “the One” work and has helped me in my own life tremendously.
Well, this morning in my inbox there was an email from the Calling in “The One” headquarters saying that I am now an officially Certified Calling in “The One” coach! Yes, I passed my exam and I have joined their community. It feels good to me. I love the work and am happy to offer people the credibility of being certified by Katherine Woodward Thomas (the author of the book) and her teaching partner Claire Zammit. Onward and upward! 🙂
